App questions

Is the app free?

Yes. Tonight's forecast for your location, the calendar and alerts for one place are free, and every alert checks the cloud forecast first. Premium adds alerts for several places, home-screen widgets and an AR sky scanner that shows where the radiant is.

Does it work in the Southern Hemisphere?

Yes. Everything is computed for your coordinates, so a shower whose radiant never rises where you live is never presented as worth watching, and the southern showers get their due.

Why does it need my location?

Because the answer depends on it: the radiant height, the dark window and the Moon all change with latitude and longitude. An approximate location is enough, and you can pick a city instead.

Will it spam me with notifications?

No. Most nights of the year are not worth an alert, and you get none on them. A qualifying night gets an evening heads-up and one more message when the best window opens. Each one says how cloudy it will be; switch on “Skip cloudy nights” and an overcast night stays silent, and if a cloudy night clears up later you get a short follow-up.
